Opposing Outlook: What Cleveland Browns fans think of Bengals' Week 9 matchup

New, comments

Every week we will take a look around the web to find some of the thoughts of opposing teams' fans concerning their upcoming game with the Bengals. This week we peek into Dawgs By Nature's comment section.

I love writing this article, the insight into the psyche of opposing fans is always interesting. There are the nervous ones, the over confident ones and the overly critical ones (yeah, we have that here, too). As I take the dark journey into the Cleveland Browns' SB Nation site, Dawgs By Nature there is a bit of a different dynamic.

There really is not much confidence. Sure, some Believeland fans are commenting, but they often are met with reality from their brethren.

Manziel time starts in 2 days. When he comes out and smokes the Bengals in Prime Time, all the haters can quit with their hating and we're on our way to a clean sweep of the second half of the season.

The rest of the Browns fans' confidence is combined with a lot of wishing and hope. You know saying one thing but then wishing another and seeing what happens.

JFF is a competitor - it is the best type of game for him to be in. He was called a midget, he was abused by the Bengals. If he is a player - he is going to respond and play at his absolute best. If not - well that helps with our evaluation anyway.

This game should be interesting. We usually play the Bengals tough and short weeks usually lead to surprising results. On the flip side, we had a somewhat dysfunctional week and the roster is banged up.

I have to give it to them, they find any reason the Browns will pull out the win. Even pointing at the Bengals giving it up more than Cleveland earning the W.

I think we'll win this game. I'm not sure Johnny will be great or anything, but it'd be so Bengals-y for them to lose I actually think we'll pull it out.

Many fans just don't think the Browns have enough in the tank.

I won't be shocked to see the Browns take a game from the Steelers, but I don't see them beating the Bengals.

Happy to be wrong.

Some of them just resort to begging.

Can we please just kill the Bengals on Thursday night? It'd make all of our losses thus far so much more bearable, and it'd be nice not to look terrible in front of everyone.

Overall, confidence is lacking in Manziel facing the Bengals on Thursday night.

What if Manziel gets ground to a pulp in this game? Or is he going to spend his time running backwards and sliding?

Pettine: "The fans want to see Johnny, eh? Well let's throw him to the, erm.... I mean the Bengals."

Hopefully the Bengals follow through and punish Manziel for the second time.
