Kansas State held their Pro Day Tuesday morning, and the Bengals made the trip to watch several draftable prospects work out.
It just so happens, one of their biggest needs is at slot receiver, and Tyler Lockett is one of the best slot wide outs available in this year's draft. Per CBS Sports, Lockett is a second-round prospect and the 12th-best receiver in the 2015 NFL draft.
The guys at Cat Scratch Reader did a nice breakdown of Lockett, who also possesses the kind of speed (4.40 40-time) the Bengals could use to stretch the field, to open up the field more for other guys to pick apart defenses underneath. Here's a brief excerpt of Lockett's NFL.com profile:
Highly competitive with a history of production at Kansas State. Utilizes great routes and suddenness out of his breaks to get consistent separation. Lockett is a film rat who can come in and compete for a slot receiver spot right away and should be an NFL punt returner.
Here's some of the other notable K-State prospects, via CBS Sports:
