The Geathers family has a strong football tradition, and it's spanned across multiple college and NFL programs.
The Bengals are familiar with the Geathers family tree, as Robert spent his entire NFL career with Cincinnati following a productive college career with Georgia.
He and brother Kwame, now on the Bengals roster, played for the Bulldogs. Another one of their brothers, Clifton Geathers, played for South Carolina, and currently plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Central Florida is another school that's been fortunate to have a Geathers grace their campus, and the Orlando Sentinel did a nice piece on the Geathers family tree, specifically Clayton Geathers, a four-year starting safety at UCF who was an All-AAC first-team selection last year.
He's expected to be drafted late in this month's NFL Draft, and the hope is that Clayton carries on the Geathers' family tradition in the NFL.
"[Clayton] was a great kid to be around, good student, never in trouble, and he had a real passion for the game of football,'' UCF coach George O'Leary said. "I can see why, being from the family he was brought up in.
"Great family. Clayton's going to be a good pro."
