Former Cincinnati Bengals running back Ickey Woods will reportedly announce Cincinnati's second-round picks during the 2015 NFL draft, according to ESPN. Joining Woods to announce picks will be quarterback Jim Kelly, linebacker Dick Butkus, defensive end Charles Haley, defensive back Darren Woodson, linebacker Chris Spielman, defensive back Ty Law and wide receiver Donald Driver. More announcers will be added throughout the month.
This continues a relatively young tradition with former players announcing their former team's picks in the second and/or third rounds. This started in 2011 when Anthony Munoz was one of 32 legends to make second round announcements. Wide receiver Isaac Curtis carried the banner in 2012, which was expanded into a third round selection, with defensive tackle Tim Krumrie naming Cincinnati's second and third round picks in 2013. Bengals cornerback Ken Riley announced the second round picks last year.
Woods will announce the team's second round pick, which is 21st in the round and 53rd overall. No formal announcements have been made by the Bengals, nor the NFL, and it's possible that Woods could call both of Cincinnati's third-round selections as well.
