Colin Cowherd to quit making fun of Andy Dalton

"It's not like Andy Dalton bro punched me. He wasn't physically intimidating. He's not like Ben Roethlisberger who's like an oil barrel with a helmet," Cowherd said.

Colin Cowherd was joined by five time NCAA Championship winning Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski this morning for an interview. Toward the end of the interview, Coach K turned the tables on Cowherd and requested to ask him a question... What was his question, you might ask.... Well, it was why Cowherd continually picks on Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton.

"I have not always been complimentary of Andy Dalton's career, let's say that. Yes, I can be a little harsh," Cowherd said

Throughout the dialogue, Cowherd's producer played many of the one-liners Cowherd has made over the years about Dalton, such as "He's a hack...Andy Dalton, a boring water pistol".

"Yeah I said it one time, one time, you just kept the tape and kept playing it," Cowherd said.

Another one liner (all others in italics below): "Yeah, red rifle, my arse"

"I gotta pick new guy to pick on, he's just too nice a guy," Cowherd continued, "and I'm not a mean person, I've gotta find another quarterback to pick on. Because he couldn't have been nicer."

"The old beige water pistol was at it again yesterday".

"Enough! There's no recanting - no more!"

"Andy Dalton's a Nissan Maxima... not a big fan"

"You know what have your fun."

"He's a hack"

"Enough!"

"Dalton stinks... I'm not a big fan."

"We're not playing any more Andy Dalton drops on the show."

"Is he a good quarterback now?" Cowherd's producer interjected to ask.

"No, but he's too nice a human being and I'm not a jerk. And I've gone a little overboard on banging on Andy Dalton."

"I've said a few things I regret."

"Did you apologize to him," the producer asked "What'd you say?"... Referring to Cowherd and Dalton running into each other this week in Los Angeles.

"I said how are you, what are you in town for, why are you here... And he's training with Tom House."

"Why can't you win a playoff game? I'm sure you dropped that in too," the producer said.

"No, no, it wasn't the moment. It's not like Andy Dalton bro punched me. He wasn't physically intimidating. He's not like Ben Roethlisberger who's like an oil barrel with a helmet. He's not gigantic, he's not Cam Newton. He's a wonderful guy and I'm tired of being a jerk."
