With the NFL Top 100 Players of 2015 currently running on NFL Network, the guys at Pro Football Focus are doing their own list of the league's top 101 players.
If you followed their list last year, you'd already know they're not the biggest fans of Bengals receiver A.J. Green. He came in at No. 97 in their list of the top players of 2014. That seemed far too low for a receiver who had one of the best three-year starts to a career an NFL receiver has ever had.
Green's ranking hasn't improved much coming into the 2015 season. He's now their No. 92 player, despite enduring his worst statistical season of his four-year career last season.
92. A.J. Green, WR, Cincinnati Bengals (97th)
Missed time but still broke 1,000 yards thanks to his five games above the 100-yard mark (including one +200 effort). Green you always feel is a guy capable of doing more with consecutive finishes in the nineties possibly a little low for a man with his upside. But it's still an achievement and he isn't always blessed with the most consistent quarterback play.
Best Performance: Week 14, PIT @ CIN, +3.6
Key Stat: 2.59 yards per route run were fourth most of all wide receivers.
It actually seems courteous of PFF to boost Green's ranking after his production took a hit last year after essentially missing four games due to injury. Then again, for Green to ever be this low in any ranking is kind of ridiculous.
What do you think?
