Lauren Hill, who helped raise over a million dollars for pediatric research, passed away last month. She bravely fought brain cancer while spreading a positive message to help support research.

"She was missed Friday last week at the 10th annual Dick Vitale Gala, but her presence was certainly felt," writes the USA TODAY. "A tribute video played, chronicling her emotional fight, and her parents were honored during the event, which raises money for the V Foundation for Cancer Research. Hill's parents accepted a $250,000 cancer research grant in memory of their daughter."

Still also spoke at the event, giving an update on Leah and saying, "What I do is easy. The real warriors are those kids."
