CBA: Mandatory minicamp rules

The Bengals open mandatory minicamp this week -- which is a set of practices taking place over a three day timespan. There are specific rules to conduct those practices, which we outline here.

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

The Cincinnati Bengals kickoff their mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Their schedule is:

Tuesday: 2-4 p.m.
Wednesday: 2-4 p.m.
Thursday: 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Mandatory minicamp carries the same rules as the voluntary sessions with one exception -- attendance is required this week. Directly from Article 22 of the College Bargaining Agreement:

Article 22 CBA Minicamp

Because most of the mandatory camp highlights rules from the phase three portion of the offseason training program, here are those rules from the CBA:

CBA Phase Three Rules

The media will be in attendance for all three days of minicamp so absences, injuries and impressive (and non-impressive) plays will be reported throughout the week for all to see. Don't expect to have Vontaze Burfict on the field, as he continues to recover from microfracture surgery. George Iloka and Margus Hunt who have not yet practiced in OTAs are also not expected to be seen with jerseys on, though they may be in attendance watching.
