Darqueze Dennard on his approach to competition

Leon Hall, Adam Jones, Dre Kirkpatrick and Darqueze Dennard are competing against each other for significant playing time, if not a few starting gigs. Dennard talks about his approach toward the competition.

Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Darqueze Dennard spoke momentarily with the Bengals media this week. Dennard, one of several players fighting to become a starter -- or at the very least a significant contributor -- is facing off against Leon Hall, Adam Jones and Dre Kirkpatrick. NOTE: I figure we should include Hall, who might become more of a roaming defensive back as opposed to a player caught into one position. Dennard also changed his diet during the offseason, dropping nearly 10 pounds and telling Bengals.com that, "I feel more explosive. I feel more fluid in my breaks, coming into my breaks, and just playing - I feel more comfortable."

Dennard and the Bengals have already concluded mandatory minicamp early Thursday afternoon, initiating a vacation that will last until July 31 when the team reports for training camp.
