There are now less than two months until regular-season Bengals football is back.

The first Bengals to wear the No. 59 for a significant amount of years was Jeff Schuh. Drafted by Cincinnati in the 7th round (176th overall) of the 1981 NFL Draft, Schuh went on to play in 73 career games (25 starts) at outside linebacker.
After Schuh, Kevin Walker was the next Bengal to wear No. 59 for more than two seasons. Drafted by the Bengals in the 3rd round (57th overall) of the 1988 NFL Draft, Walker played in 44 career games (23 starts) in Cincinnati while playing primarily at inside linebacker.
Then came Greg Truitt, an undrafted free agent out of Penn State who played in 75 career games (0 starts) during six years in the Queen City. Emmanuel Lamur and Brandon Johnson are the most recent Bengals to wear the No. 59. Drafted by the Cardinals in the 5th round (142nd overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft, Johnson played in 64 career games (16 starts) in Cincinnati.
As for Lamur, he's entering his fourth season with the Bengals after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas State in 2012. He's played in 24 career games (13 starts) at outside linebacker, which is where he should be starting once again in 2015.
*NOTE: Kurnick and Melontree both were assigned uniform No. 59 for the entire 1980 season. At the time, however, only Melontree was on the active roster. Kurnick was on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list.
