AJ McCarron may be an NFL player making more than $500,000 this year alone, but growing up, McCarron's parents worked multiple jobs each to get by. Now, the former Alabama football star and current Bengals quarterback is looking to give back to his hometown of Mobile, Alabama.
McCarron contacted Kyle Oreffice and Josh Gibson who run Give Back Films, a YouTube channel that showcases volunteer acts and good deeds. McCarron joined the duo to help a homeless man in Mobile named Croy.
"We met an unbelievable guy named Croy," McCarron says in the video. "He's been going through some hard times, and we all wanted to get together and do something back in my hometown and, hopefully, help him out, get him back on the right track, give him a makeover, go out and buy him some new clothes and try to help him with a job interview and stuff. Hopefully, we can turn his life back around in the right way."
In the video, you can see McCarron and the Give Back Films team going shopping for clothes with Croy, buying him shoes, taking him out for a nice meal and getting him a hotel room to stay in for a night.
"The things you go through make you stronger," Croy says in the video. "If I tell you a lot of the things I went through, we'd probably be here all week."
Croy seems like a more than deserving choice to receive McCarron's help. Check out the video below.
