Vontaze Burfict working out at Paul Brown Stadium

Vontaze Burfict recently returned to Twitter after a year long hiatus. And, since he's been back Tweeting, we've seen only great news from the Bengals linebacker.

In probably the best Bengals-related news you'll see all day, Vontaze Burfict posted Twitter videos of himself working out on the practice field at Paul Brown Stadium this morning. One was captioned saying, "First time cutting since Baltimore game baCK@it"

It's great to see Burfict is moving around better than when he made an appearance at OTAs this spring and many noticed he was still limping and hobbling around.

Burfict has been rehabbing from microfracture surgery in January. The timeline for his return is uncertain and many are assuming Burfict will open the year on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. But, anything is possible, and he may beat the odds to return for Week 1 in Oakland.

It's good to see Burfict getting in some practice after an offseason where that largely has not been an option. During OTAs, Marvin Lewis way very non-descript when talking about Burfict's timetable for return.

"Vontaze will be in rehab all the way through the summer," coach Lewis said. "So he's got a long ways to go.... It's like Marvin Jones. When they get here and prove that they're ready, then they'll prove that they're ready."

Regarding the microfracture surgery, Lewis said, "That's a surgery that takes a bit. He's trying to beat the odds and [recover] quicker, but he's got a lot of work to do."

Regardless, we're happy to see Burfict is hitting the field and looking to speed up his recovery time, as long as it doesn't come at a long-term cost. Burfict just began Tweeting again last week after more than a year-long hiatus, and since, only good news has followed. Check out his timeline for more updates and typical Burfict-antics.
