Marvin Jones, Rey Maualuga at Bengals practice; Pat Sims held out

Two key starters returned to Bengals practice on Monday.

As the Bengals hit the field for day nine of training camp, several notable players made their long-awaited return to the practice field.

After Marvin Jones returned (sort of) on Saturday, he was once again back in pads at practice for Monday's session. Because today was only a shoulder pads and shorts practice, it will be light on contact, which should help Jones ease back into practice. The Bengals are trying to be delicate with Jones as he returns after a 2014 season in which he only made it through one camp session before ultimately going on PUP and then I.R.

Also making his return was linebacker Rey Maualuga. After missing the first eight camp sessions with a hamstring injury, Maualuga returned today after coming off the Active/Non-Football Injury list earlier this morning. As mentioned above, today was a good day for Maualuga to return and get eased back into a practice routine.

Also returning was wide receiver Onterio McCalebb. He missed most of last week with a knee injury.

One notable absentee today was defensive tackle Pat Sims, though there's no word as to why he's being held out. Also being held out, as expected, were defensive end Michael Johnson, offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi, linebacker Sean Porter, and linebacker Vontaze Burfict.
