The first 35 minutes of day 9 of Bengals training camp went by without a peep. Then, practice exploded into one of the most action-packed days of training camp so far. A.J. Green and Tyler Eifert continued to dominate. Leon Hall bounced back for great day of practice after a very slow start to camp.
Rookie safety Derron Smith had perhaps the best play of camp so far when he plucked an AJ McCarron pass out of the air high above his head for a one-handed interception that had the whole defense buzzing. Fellow rookies Mario Alford, C.J. Uzomah, and Jake Kumerow continued to impress in the passing game as well.
Marvin Jones returned to practice, albeit in limited fashion. He had to knock off some rust after missing about a week of practice. Jones had a couple mental errors, but his undeniable quickness was on display throughout the day. Rey Maualuga was also activated off the NFI list yesterday and had his first practice.
