The Oakland Raiders could be without one of their top pass-catchers to open the 2015 NFL season.
Fifth-year receiver Andre Holmes suffered a broken hand this week that will keep him out of action for up to a month. Holmes led the team in receiving last season with 693 yards to go with four touchdowns. He also played in all 16 games while starting 13.
Holmes and the Raiders open the regular season when they host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1, but the chances of him playing in that game now appear slim. The good news is the Raiders spent the No. 4 pick on Alabama's Amari Cooper in the 2015 NFL Draft. Cooper was an All-American with the Crimson Tide this past season while hauling in 124 receptions for 1,727 yards and 16 touchdowns, all school records.
Still, the Raiders were hoping to pair Holmes and Cooper together to give second-year QB Derek Carr a nice 1-2 punch at receiver.
