Week 3 of the NFL preseason opens Friday night.
This is typically the week teams use as a dress rehearsal for the regular season, so expect most, if not every team to play their starters for about two full quarters, if not more. The action begins Friday at 7:30 p.m. EST when the New England Patriots head to Carolina to face the Carolina Panthers. It will be interesting to see how the Pats approach this game with Tom Brady still facing a four-game suspension. Will they play him as a starter for 2+-quarters, or will backup Jimmy Garoppolo get most of the snaps in this one?
As for the nationally-televised game, that will be the Detroit Lions taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars on CBS. After making the playoffs as a wild-card team last year, Detroit is hoping for a deeper playoff run this coming season. As for Jacksonville, it will be interesting to see how second-year QB, Blake Bortles looks against a stout Lions defense.
The other preseason game on deck Friday features the Tennessee Titans at the Kansas City Chiefs. Marcus Mariota has had an up-and-down preseason after the Titans made him the No. 2-overall pick in this year's NFL draft. How will he fare against a Chiefs' defense who are among the league's best at terrorizing opposing passers?
If you want to watch any of these games online, you'll need to use NFL Game Pass, which is $99.99 for the season. Game Pass includes all NFL Preseason live streams, but only replays of the regular season games; it is available on iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows and will be coming to Xbox, and Apple TV.
