Week 3 of the 2015 NFL preseason continues Saturday and wraps up Sunday.
This is the most important week of the preseason for most teams as they treat their third game as a dress rehearsal for the regular season. That means we'll be seeing starters for two to three quarters of play, sans a few older, established veterans. Guys like Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, and Drew Brees have enough football under their belt and will be fine with just a quarter or less of play this week, but we'll still see plenty of teams playing their starters for significant snaps this week.
Nationally televised games
On Saturday, the first nationally-televised game features the Buffalo Bills hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers on the NFL Network. Buffalo is still in the midst of a QB battle and Tyrod Taylor, EJ Manuel and Matt Cassel all still in contention for the job. Lucky for them, they'll be playing against a Steelers' defense that was ranked 27th in pass defense in 2014.
The other Saturday national TV game features the San Diego Chargers playing host to the Seattle Seahawks on CBS. Seeing how well Chargers star rookie Melvin Gordon plays against a tough Seattle defense will be fun to watch.
On Sunday, the first national game features the New Orleans Saints hosting the Houston Texans on FOX. Seeing the high-powered Saints offense go against a stout Texans defense will make this one of the more intriguing matchups in Week 3. Both clubs narrowly missed out on the playoff a year ago and will look to take the next step in order to get back to the postseason this year.
The final nationally televised game of Week 3 features the Oakland Raiders hosting the Arizona Cardinals on NBC. This will be Cardinals' QB Carson Palmer's first trip to Oakland since the Raiders traded him in 2013 after a disastrous two-year stint there.
If you want to catch any of these games on TV, there's several channels this game will be on depending on where you live. Be sure to check out 506sports.com for full listings in surrounding areas
