Vontaze Burfict appears at Bengals practice; Michael Johnson, Wallace Gilberry sit

Michael Johnson and Wallace Gilberry were among several notable Bengals held out during the fourth day of training camp. Both of the defensive players suffered injuries on Sunday.

It was a great sight to see when Vontaze Burfict made an appearance at day 4 of Bengals training camp.

After undergoing microfracture surgery back in January, Burfict has rarely been seen this offseason as the team kept his rehabilitation out of the public eye. Some questioned why Burfict wasn't present for the first three days of camp, but it was likely just to keep his progress out of the public eye. The Bengals like to be sneaky like that.

Seeing him on the field Monday was a positive sight, but little more was offered as to how much longer there is until we see him back on the practice field. Burfict, along with Rey Maualuga, Michael Johnson and Wallace Gilberry were among the notable Bengals not practicing Monday.

Johnson is likely to miss 4-6 weeks after suffering an MCL sprain on Sunday. Gilberry sustained a minor hamstring injury that shouldn't keep him out long. There's still no official word as to what's plaguing Maualuga, though it's believed to be some sort of minor injury incurred during the offseason.

Sean Porter and Margus Hunt remain on PUP and have yet to practice. Hunt is recovering from an offseason back injury. Porter is recovering from knee surgery after suffering a season-ending knee injury at New England last year.

Rookie offensive lineman Cedric Ogbuehi remains on the NFI list while recovering from ACL surgery back in January. He's still not expected to participate in training camp.

Also sitting Monday was Marvin Jones, though his absence isn't believed to be anything more than a day of rest.
