As the Bengals hit the field for day 6 of training camp, Marvin Jones continued to be held out.
Jones, who was called out earlier by head coach Marvin Lewis, is dealing with leg soreness that's kept him out for three practices now. He made it through the first three days with no apparent setbacks from last year's foot and ankle issues, which held him out for the entire 2014 season.
Perhaps Jones missing today is what irked Lewis earlier. It's not like him to call players out like that when they're coming off major injuries. In that same breath, it's not like an NFL player to miss three days of practice (with an off day in between) due to "soreness" of anything.
The good news is both starting offensive tackles were back Thursday. Andrew Whitworth and Andre Smith both got veteran's rest days off on Tuesday before the whole team got Wednesday off.
Michael Johnson, as expected was also held out as he continues to recover from an MCL sprain. Rey Maualuga was also held out and has yet to practice after opening camp on the Active/Non-Football Injury list with an undisclosed injury.
Onterio McCalebb returned Thursday after missing practice earlier this week with a knee injury. Marquis Flowers also returned after missing Tuesday's session with a knee injury as well.
Marvin Jones isn't practicing. Marquis Flowers, Andrew Whitworth, Andre Smith are all back. Onterio McCalebb going thru side drills #Bengals
