Marvin Jones has a hamstring tweak/leg soreness

  • Marvin Jones hasn't practiced since last Sunday. [Cincy Jungle ]
  • Marvin Lewis isn't happy with Marvin Jones sitting out, saying "He needs to practice so he can be football ready. He's not there yet." [Cincy Jungle ]
  • Jones has been seen doing work with the Bengals strength and conditioning coach the last few days while keeping the pads and helmet off. [Cincy Jungle]

Margus Hunt Removed From PUP

  • Margus Hunt is slowing back into practice. [ESPN ]

Leon Hall at Safety is a Real Possibility

AJ McCarron is Far From Ready to Take Andy Dalton's Job

  • McCarron has looked sloppy one week into training camp. [Cincinnati Enquirer ]
  • McCarron's inconsistency may force the Bengals to take three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster. [Cincy Jungle]

Geno Atkins is Dominating Training Camp

  • Akins has appeared to be the "best player on the field" for the Bengals in training camp. [Cincy Jungle]
  • Atkins was able to spend this offseason training opposed to last offseason when he was rehabbing, and the work he put in is showing. [Cincy Jungle]
  • Atkins has been the talk of camp and is the "old Genoa again". On his teammate, Carlos Dunlap said, "He's more fluid, it's back to being natural for him rather than questioning himself." [Fox 19]

Is the Future Here for the Cornerback Position?

  • Former first round picks Darqueze Dennard and Dre Kirkpatrick are working hard to earn a starting role with the Bengals this season. And, they're looking good doing it. [Cincy Jungle]
  • "Darqueze has been ballin'" George Iloka said of his teammate. "If he isn't going to say it, I'll say it for him." [Cincinnati Enquirer]
  • Dre Kirkpatrick's goals include becoming a captain on the Bengals and becoming the face of the franchise. [Cincy Jungle]

Andrew Whitworth isn't Planning to Retire Soon

  • Andrew Whitworth wants to play 3-4 more seasons in the NFL, hopefully with the Bengals. [Cincy Jungle]
  • "When you get married you tell your wife that she's the only one you want to marry, but if she doesn't want to marry you there isn't a thing you can do about it," the 33-year-old Whitworth said. [ESPN]
  • On the possibility of leaving the Bengals, Whitworth said "When it happened to Peyton it could happen to anybody," Whitworth said. "That guy leaving the Colts was the most unbelievable thing." [Cincinnati Enquirer]

Michael Johnson Expected to Miss 4-6 Weeks

  • Michael Johnson was carted off the field during the Bengals' Sunday practice. [Cincy Jungle]
  • It was determined that his injury is a Grade 2 MCL sprain, which is good news considering many were fearing a season-ending injury when the Bengals' biggest free agency acquisition this offseason went down. [Cincy Jungle]
  • Bengals defensive coordinator, Paul Guenther believes Johnson will be back by the end of training camp. [Cincy Jungle]
