Weisman was signed this year as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa where he played mainly at running back. He rushed for generated 2,602 yards on 599 carries (4.3 yard/rush average) and scored 24 touchdowns during his college career. Weisman's 2,602 yards rank sixth in school history and his 32 rushing touchdowns are third. He was also a two-year team captain.
With him now on I.R., he'll remain part of the Bengals' organization while not counting against the roster. He'll have the entire 2015 season to rest, rehab and prepare to fight for a roster spot in 2016 as a fullback and/or h-back in Cincinnati's offense. Weisman's injury has yet to be revealed.
