Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones had a terrific game against the Oakland Raiders, making impact plays against the pass and impressive open-field tackles -- all of which could have led to significant gains.
In between those moments of dependability and reliability, Jones nearly took a big dump on that performance. After getting into it with Raiders cornerback Amari Cooper, Jones ripped off his helmet and slammed the back of his head against the helmet.
I believe the infraction happened during Jamize Olawale's 60-yard touchdown run, which was nullified by an offensive hold, with over eight minutes remaining in the second quarter.
"Whatever you saw happen, that’s what happened," said Adam Jones after the game. "I’m here to play football. I don’t back down from anybody and I’m not out here trying to start anything. I’m just out here playing football.
"I was in the moment on that play. Like I said, I'm just out playing football. I'm not out to do that. I don't want to hurt my team in any form or fashion, but I have to make sure I protect myself, too."
#CINvsOAK #PacmanJones has to be ejected... he slams #AmariCooper's head down on the helmet... he'll get a big fine for that.
