Safety George Iloka only played 19 defensive snaps during Cincinnati's explosive win over the Oakland Raiders; mostly all in the first quarter before he made a permanent exist after half time.
Thankfully, it appears his ankle (or foot) injury isn't serious.
According to Bengals.com, Iloka is expected to play when Cincinnati celebrates their home opener against the San Diego Chargers this Sunday. The mothership adds that Iloka "was running on the sidelines in the second half" on Sunday, providing the sense that Cincinnati justifiably approached the situation with some conservatism.
Shawn Williams, who played a career-high 46 snaps on defense Sunday, was solid in relief; Pro Football Focus gave him a +0.1 grade for his performance.
It appears the injury occurred on the last play of the first quarter. While rookie wide receiver Amari Cooper was navigating through Cincinnati's defense; he was eventually tackled by Iloka and linebacker Chris Carter. Afterward, Iloka slowly crawled on the field before he exited the game.
Iloka returned in the second quarter but didn't return after half time.
