Bengals injury update: George Iloka, Reggie Nelson return to Bengals practice

The Bengals got good news at Thursday's practice session.

The Bengals hit the field Thursday morning for their second practice in preparation for the San Diego Chargers game on Sunday.

The biggest news to come out of the session was George Iloka returning after sitting Wednesday. The fourth-year safety missed the second half of Sunday's blowout win at Oakland with an ankle injury that was bad enough to cost him one practice, but no more than that it appears.

Also making his way back to practice was Reggie Nelson, who missed Wednesday with a groin injury he suffered in practice last week. However, that wasn't enough to keep Nelson from playing 56 snaps vs the Raiders (Iloka played 19). If either one of those two were to miss a game, backup Shawn Williams who got 47 of the 48 backup safety snaps at Oakland, looks like he'd be next up.

Rookie defensive tackle Marcus Hardison was unable to go once again after suffering a knee injury in practice last week. Hardison was ruled out of last Sunday's contest due to the injury. The fact that Hardison suffered the injury last Wednesday and hasn't practice once since is a bit concerning, especially since it involves his knee.

No further information on the injury has been released, so hopefully it's just a sprain or something else minor. Still, don't expect him to be active on Sunday against San Diego.

As a reminder, this is only what happened during the open portion of practice, so be sure to check back here later for the full practice and injury report.
