A.J. Green, Andrew Whitworth miss Bengals practice

It doesn't look like anything serious for Andrew Whitworth and A.J. Green as the team prepares for Baltimore.

The Bengals held their first practice in preparation for their Week 3 game against the Ravens on Wednesday afternoon, and noticeably not working out was wide receiver A.J. Green.

During the Bengals' home opener on Sunday, it never appeared Green suffered an injury during the win over the Chargers, so it's possible this a mere veteran's rest day. That's likely the case with veteran tackle Andrew Whitworth, too who wasn't on the field. Whitworth typically gets a day off about once a week or every other week.

Another notable absentee from Wednesday's session was defensive tackle Pat Sims:

Sims also didn't appear to suffer an injury Sunday, so it's unclear why he's not out practicing. It is good to see rookie defensive tackle Marcus Hardison is at least able to work on the rehab field. His knee injury suffered during a Week 1 practice has led to him missing the past five practices, and this is the first mention of him even being on the rehab field.

If both Hardison and Sims are out on Sunday, that could lead to Brandon Thompson getting his first game action in Baltimore after being a healthy scratch in each of the first two contests. Other than that, the Bengals appear to be healthy going into their Week 3 showdown in Baltimore.

One other note to come out of Wednesday's session was that Carlos Dunlap gave head coach Marvin Lewis a Gatorade bath. Lewis is celebrating his 57th birthday today. That's still a pretty ballsy move by Dunlap to soak his coach in the middle of practice.
