Following an exciting second week of NFL action, odds-makers are continuing to change their picks for Super Bowl 50. And with Cincinnati coming off its second straight win, the Bengals' odds of winning the Super Bowl have more than doubled since the season begun.
When the Seattle Seahawks lost in Week 1, the Green Bay Packers quickly overtook them as Super Bowl favorites. And coming off a second-straight win, the 2-0 Packers remain Super Bowl favorites with 17-4 odds heading into the third week of the season.
The New England Patriots also overtook the Seahawks after starting off the season 2-0 and are now in a close second with 5-1 odds of winning back-to-back Super Bowls. Despite losing their first two games of the season, the Seattle Seahawks still hang on in third place, with 10-1 odds of winning a second title in three years. The Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals passed the 0-2 Indianapolis Colts to round out the top five, with the Broncos at 12-1 odds and the Cardinals close behind at 14-1.
The Cincinnati Bengals' odds have skyrocketed in the past few weeks, making a significant jump up to 22-1 odds after opening the season with 50-1 odds. The Bengals are on fire, and odds-makers are finally starting to catch on, giving Cincinnati the ninth-best odds in the NFL.
As for who will represent the AFC in Super Bowl 50, the New England Patriots come in with 5-2 odds of returning to the big show a year after hoisting the trophy. The Broncos are in a distant second, with 11-2 odds of returning two years after being dismantled by the Seahawks in one of the most lopsided Super Bowls of all time. The Indianapolis Colts and the Pittsburgh Steelers are right behind Denver with 8-1 odds.
The Cincinnati Bengals are the next team in the pecking order, coming in with 11-1 odds to win the AFC Championship. The Bengals seem to be a little bit disrespected here, ranking at fifth place in the conference--but odds-makers likely rank Cincinnati low because of its lack of playoff success in the past four years.
