Week 3 Bengals vs Ravens: Player and coaching connections

New, comments

From 1996 to 2001 Marvin Lewis was the Ravens' defensive coordinator, now as the leading man for the Bengals, his goal this weekend will be to take down his former team and make history, giving the Ravens their first-ever 0-3 start to an NFL season.

The Bengals and Ravens coaching connections run deep with Marvin Lewis having been the Ravens' defensive coordinator from 1996-2001, during which he earned a Super Bowl ring with the 2000 World Champion team. "They’re still my second favorite team," Lewis said of the Ravens at a press conference this week.

But when the two teams meet this weekend, it's clear Lewis' goal will be taking down his "second favorite team" and bringing the Bengals to a 3-0 record, the opposite of where the Ravens would stand, should that be the case. Here are the other connections between players and coaches on the two AFC North squads.
