The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers renew their AFC North rivalry this week in primetime as the two clash on Thursday Night Football.
This time, though, the Steelers will have to take on the Ravens without the services of Ben Roethlisberger, who sprained his MCL and suffered a bone bruise in his left knee during Sunday' 12-6 win over the St. Louis Rams. Roethlisberger will be out 4-6 weeks due to the injury, leaving 15-year veteran Michael Vick to take over for him.
Vick signed with the Steelers at the end of training camp due to a season-ending injury suffered by backup quarterback Bruce Gradkowski. He showed flashes of still being the big-arm, dual-threat scrambler he was in his heyday with the Falcons and Eagles. However, after last year's disastrous season with the New York Jets, there's a lot of doubt Vick can come in and keep the high-powered Steelers offense operating at an efficient pace.
The Ravens need this win in the worst way after last week's gut-wrenching loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Baltimore is now 0-3 and essentially four games behind the Bengals in the AFC North race now that Cincy holds a head-to-head win in addition to a 3-0 record. Another loss will effectively end any hope of winning the division and probably a playoff berth as well.
