Bengals practice squad 2015: Troy Hill being signed to to Bengals practice squad, per report

With Troy Hill on the practice squad, the Bengals would have a quality cornerback to call up if someone gets hurt.

The Cincinnati Bengals will sign cornerback Troy Hill to their practice squad, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

Hill, who had a promising preseason with the Bengals, was signed this offseason as an undrafted free agent by way of the Oregon Ducks. A Youngstown, Ohio native, Hill posted an interception, a forced fumble, 59 tackles and 16 passes defensed in 2014. Our own Anthony Cosenza interviewed Hill during the NFLPA Bowl game following Ohio State's win during the National Championship game over Oregon.

The Bengals had several tough decisions to make on their final roster, one of the biggest being whether to keep the young and promising Hill or the veteran Chris Lewis-Harris as the sixth and final corner. The Bengals received praise from Pro Football Focus when they signed him as an UFA this offseason as they viewed him as one of the best corners in the country.

With Leon Hall, Adam Jones and Lewis-Harris set to become free agents next year, Hill could very easily go from the practice squad to being a significant contributor next year.
