The Cincinnati Bengals will hold on to linebacker Marquis Flowers and Jayson DiManche after both players cleared waivers and reverted to the team's Injured Reserve list, the team announced Sunday.
Flowers, selected in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL draft out of Arizona, played every game last season as a rookie, including a start against the Denver Broncos. The second-year linebacker generated five tackles last season and three more on special teams. Flowers injured his shoulder during Cincinnati's preseason finale against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night.
As for DiManche, the third-year backer out of Southern Illinois finished the 2014 season with seven tackles on defense and three on special teams. He was credited with a forced fumble on special teams. He was put on season-ending Injured Reserve, after suffering forearm fracture during Cincinnati's 14-13 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. DiManche suffered a knee injury in the preseason that was serious enough to knock him out for the year.
