All eyes are headed toward the Wild Card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers this Saturday night, but we're still wrapping up all coverage associated with the Bengals' Week 17 win over the Ravens. It's the last regular season edition of our weekly post that honors the Cincinnati players who may have gone overlooked in the outcome of the game.
Cast your vote on the Bengals' Week 17 "Unsung Hero of the Week" and sound off on your winner!
WR A.J. Green: The star wide receiver had two spectacular catches, one of which was a touchdown early in the third quarter. While Tyler Eifert and Marvin Jones both had more yards than Green, he still made a significant impact. Green finished with four catches for 34 yards and the touchdown.
WR Marvin Jones: The team's No. 2 receiver made some nice plays on Sunday--most notably a 23-yard catch-and-run. He complemented Eifert and Green to the tune of five catches for 38 yards.
K Mike Nugent: After missing a big field goal in Week 16 against the Broncos, Nugent began to atone for the miss once again with a big 52-yarder against the Ravens in the fourth quarter. He added three extra points for a total of six on the afternoon.
P Kevin Huber: It's not a fantastic day on offense when your punter has seven punts, but Huber kicked well in his frequent chances. He had a 41.1-yard average and three of his seven punts landed inside the Ravens' 20-yard line. The highlight was a 53-yard boomer on Sunday afternoon.
LB Rey Maualuga: While Vontaze Burfict was an MVP nominee this week, Maualuga had a quality game of his own.The veteran middle linebacker finished with six tackles and an interception of Ryan Mallett and it's obvious his play has raised since Burfict returned to the lineup a couple of months ago.
S Reggie Nelson: Unfortunately, Nelson's play on Sunday might be most remembered for an interception he inexplicably dropped, but he was swarming around the field often. He finished with 12 total tackles and a pass defended.
