Russell Bodine has not missed an NFL game since he entered the league in 2014. But, the Bengals iron man starting center went down with a right leg injury in the third quarter of the Bengals’ Week 6 game against the Patriots and was carted off the field.

T.J. Johnson, the Bengals’ backup center entered the game to start the fourth quarter with the Bengals trailing 25-14.

Bodine has been one of the most criticized Bengals since joining the team, but has actually been playing his best football this year.

In addition to Johnson coming in at center, the Bengals benched Cedric Ogbuehi earlier in the game in favor of veteran right tackle Eric Winston. Ogbuehi was beat frequently throughout his time in the game, and it looks like the Bengals had enough for the day.

That means there are now two backups playing for the Bengals on the offensive line as they try to make a comeback in the fourth quarter to beat the Patriots.

It’s unclear what exactly Bodine’s injury is, but we’ll keep you updated as further details emerge.

UPDATE: Here’s the play during which the injury occurred. Watch Bodine’s ankles.
