UPDATE: Iloka returned to the game on the first Bengals defensive drive of the second half.

The Bengals have been fairly lucky on the injury front during the regular season, but that may have changed in New England.

Starting safety George Iloka appeared to sustain a shoulder injury during the second quarter of Bengals vs Patriots Week 6 matchup. It came when Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount ran right at Iloka, who attempted to make the tackle, but was knocked to the ground and was then holding his shoulder after the play.

Iloka eventually got up and walked to the sideline, but was clearly still favoring the shoulder as trainers examined him. He was limited during practice on Wednesday with an injury to the same shoulder, so this may have been a re-aggravation of that injury.

That, or Iloka may have further damaged it or suffered a new injury altogether. For now, the Bengals are calling him questionable to return.

When Iloka came out, second-year safety Derron Smith replaced him. It looks like it will be Smith and Shawn Williams at safety for as long as Iloka is out.
