Update: It is now being reported that Burfict will be fine by the weekend, if not sooner. What a relief!

Vontaze Burfict can’t stay out of the news.
Following the NFL handing the Bengals linebacker a $75,000 fine this morning for his actions in the Bengals’ loss to Patriots, reports are surfacing from WLWT in Cincinnati that Burfict left the Bengals’ Wednesday afternoon practice with an injury, and was carted off the field. Per Mark Slaughter a photographer and videographer for WLWT, Burfict looked like he was in pain.

Just got this text from a friend @ PBS: Burfict just left on cart w/ leg injury! Not sure how bad, but looked like he was in some pain @WLWT

According to Cincinnati Enquirer’s Jim Owczarski, it’s a rolled ankle and him leaving practice may have just been precautionary.
Vontaze Burfict did leave practice early with a rolled ankle. Too early to tell severity but sounded like it was for precautionary reasons.

Vontaze Burfict's rough week gets worse as he gets evaluated for this ankle injury. #Bengals

This is not an injury the Bengals (2-4) can afford to have to one of their best defensive players as they look to get back on track this week with a matchup against the Browns (0-6).
The Bengals are 1-2 with Burfict and 1-2 without Burfict so far this season as he was suspended for the first three games of the year due to repeated violations of the NFL’s safety rules. So far in three games this season, Burfict has 21 tackles, 1 sack and 1 pass defended.
The Bengals will release their injury report later this afternoon, and it now seems like Burfict will be on it.
