The Bengals and their fans are gearing up for a very interesting week, as the team travels to London for the first time to play a football game. They take on the 4-3 Redskins who have a lot of roster similarities to the Bengals and have a former Cincinnati assistant in Jay Gruden leading the squad.
On this week’s episode of The Orange and Black Insider, we had Ken Meringolo from SB Nation’s Hogs Haven on the program to preview the matchup and it was a very entertaining interview (at the onset of the show at the :30 mark to 29:00 mark). We also recapped the Bengals’ win over the Browns and discussed if A.J. Green should be considered the best receiver in the NFL right now (start at 44:00 mark).
“Not only is he (Green) putting up huge numbers, but he’s not really getting any help from other offensive players pulling coverage away from him,” Scott said. “There’s no Tyler Eifert, there’s no Marvin Jones, there’s no Mohamed Sanu.”
When Connor talked about his stance on Green’s status in the NFL, he referenced a post he made earlier this week on Cincy Jungle. In it, he talks about the retirement of Calvin Johnson and the decline of players like Demaryius Thomas and DeAndre Hopkins as supporting factors for Green’s ascent to the top of the positional rankings in 2016.
