UPDATE: Burfict has returned to the game.
**
The Bengals got an injury scare in the second quarter of their matchup with Washington.
It came when Vontaze Burfict went down with a knee injury early in the quarter after making a tackle on running back Robert Kelly. Burfict ended up under Kelly before Will Clarke landed on the back of Burfict’s leg while making the tackle.
Burfict actually stayed in for the following play, but was clearly limping and limited in his movement. After the ensuing pass play, Burfict went down to the ground in order for the game to be stop so trainers could examine him. He stayed on the ground of the field and was examined for several minutes before walking off gingerly under his own power. The injured knee is not the one he had surgically repaired in 2014.
The veteran linebacker then went to the sideline to be further examined. The Bengals announced it as a knee injury and called his return questionable.
NFL medical expert David Chao thinks it’s not serious:
By video, not expecting a structural injury.

Likely muscle contusion to posterior knee.
Hope #Burfict can return for @Bengals https://t.co/eXaaCDH5YQ
We’ll keep you posted on any more developments. As of now, Burfict is questionable to return.
