The Cincinnati Bengals have announced their inactives list vs the New York Giants.

For Cincinnati, the following players are out tonight:

  • Defensive End Margus Hunt
  • Cornerback KeiVarae Russell
  • Offensive lineman Christian Westerman
  • Wide receiver James Wright
  • Quarterback Jeff Driskel
  • Defensive lineman DeShawn Williams
  • Linebacker Rey Maualuga

The big name out is Rey Maualuga, who was ruled out Saturday due to a fibula injury. It’s unclear how serious it is, but the fact he didn’t even practice last week doesn’t bode well for a quick return.

James Wright is the only other player missing this game due to an injury. The third-year receiver is dealing with a hamstring injury that had him questionable to play.

The surprise healthy scratch is Margus Hunt, who was giving the Bengals good snaps as a backup defensive end, but apparently not good enough. They instead will use newly-signed defensive end Wallace Gilberry after he re-joined the Bengals last week.

The only other surprise, albeit minor, is that tight end C.J. Uzomah is active after being inactive in Week 8. That was because tight end Tyler Eifert was active and got the bulk of the tight ends snaps, which means Cincinnati needed to deactivate Uzomah or Tyler Kroft. It looks like they’re keeping all three tight ends active and part of the game plan this week.

Speaking of, after Eifert got his first major workload in Week 8 before getting a bye last week, expect to see him featured in this offense early and often in New York.

With the Bengals being healthy throughout the 53-man roster coming into this game, five of the seven inactives are healthy scratches. Defensive end Michael Johnson was the only other player listed on the final injury report, and he is active after missing time last week due to a calf injury.

For New York, their inactives include:

  • Wide Receiver Victor Cruz
  • Cornerback Leon Hall
  • Offensive Tackle Will Beatty
  • Quarterback Josh Johnson
  • Linebacker Deontae Skinner
  • Left Guard Justin Pugh
  • Defensive End Kerry Wynn

Justin Pugh was ruled out this weekend, leaving New York without arguably their best offensive lineman for this game. As expected. Victor Cruz is also out due to an ankle injury.

Defensive end Kerry Wynn is out after battling a concussion that had him questionable coming into this matchup. Safety Andrew Adams and linebacker Jonathan Casillas were all listed as questionable. Everyone else is a healthy scratch.

Veteran defensive back Leon Hall is a healthy scratch, so he will not get to face his former team.
