The Bengals got back to work on Wednesday, though a number of key starters did not take part in practice.
Guard Clint Boling was limited on Wednesday, something he's been frequently since injuring his shoulder in Week 4 against the Dolphins. It seems that shoulder injury is really impacting his play this year. Boling simply doesn't look the same as he has in past years and his shoulder is clearly still bothering him.
Quarterback Andy Dalton was also limited for the second Wednesday in a row. His throwing shoulder is the issue and that too may be inhibiting his play, which could be a reason he just had his worst game of the season in Week 11. His health is something to monitor going forward.
Long snapper Clark Harris (groin), and cornerback Josh Shaw (hip) were also limited on Wednesday. Harris left Sunday's game with the injury and the Bengals added a long snapper to the practice squad in case he's unable to go in Week 12. Shaw's injury didn't limit him (as far as we know) on Sunday, but will be something to monitor this week. That's especially true, as it's yet to be determined if cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick will play on Sunday after injuring his knee against the Bills. Kirkpatrick has given himself a 50-50 chance to play; he did not practice today.
Also not practicing was wide receiver Brandon LaFell, who is dealing with a knee injury. LaFell was on last Wednesday's injury report as being limited with the injury, though he practiced fully on Thursday and Friday. LaFell will be a key component to the Bengals' offense without A.J. Green and Giovani Bernard, so it's imperative he gets healthy as quickly as possible.
Tight end C.J. Uzomah missed Sunday's game with a calf injury and he was on the rehab field during practice on Wednesday trying to work through it. Shawn Williams left Sunday's loss to the Bills, too, and did not practice either as he deals with a hamstring injury. It's unclear how serious his injury currently is.
With all of these injuries piling up, it seems a number of young and inexperienced players may be seeing more of the field on Sunday against the Ravens. Darqueze Dennard, Derron Smith, James Wright, Alex Erickson and maybe even Cody Core will be some of the recipients of additional playing time due to the excessive number of injuries the Bengals are sporting.
A number of Ravens were also sitting out on Wednesday, though, Baltimore seems to be in a much better condition than Cincinnati.
Here are the full injury reports for both teams from Wednesday:
