Bengals vs Ravens Thursday Injury Report: LaFell returns; Shaw, Williams sidelined

The Bengals could be without three of their top defensive backs this Sunday if Josh Shaw, Shawn Williams and Dre Kirkpatrick can't go. The Ravens may also be down a starting cornerback.

The Bengals went through their Thanksgiving morning practice with several key players still sidelined and looking unlikely to play on Sunday in Baltimore.

A.J. Green continued to sit out with his hamstring strain and is effectively out Sunday. Starting safety Shawn Williams also looks unlikely for Week 12 as he sat out Thursday with his hamstring injury. With Friday being mostly a walkthrough, expect second-year safety Derron Smith to make his first NFL start this Sunday.

Speaking of, Smith was added to the injury report due to being limited Thursday with a thigh issue. H-back Ryan Hewitt was also added to the Thursday report with a foot injury. And James Wright was added back to the injury report with his hamstring issue that kept him out of the Bills game last Sunday.

Andy Dalton was able to get in a full session on Thursday after being limited with a shoulder injury on Wednesday. A similar issue is plaguing Clint Boling, though he was limited again on Thursday. That was also the case with Clark Harris, who has gotten in two limited sessions after injuring his groin in Week 11.

Dre Kirkpatrick returned for a limited session on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday with his knee injury. Josh Shaw sat out Thursday after being limited with a hip issue on Wednesday.

C.J. Uzomah sat out Thursday with his calf issue and will likely be out this week.

Brandon LaFell was back practicing in a full session on Thursday after not going Wednesday, which may have been a veteran's rest day more than anything, though it appears he's dealing with a knee injury. That was certainly the case with Andrew Whitworth, who sat out Wednesday before returning.

The Ravens also had a pair of players get what appeared to be veteran's rest days as center Jeremy Zuttah and linebacker Terrell Suggs sat out Thursday.

Starting guard Alex Lewis should be out this week after missing his second practice this week on Thursday due to an ankle injury. Starting nose tackle Brandon Williams and All-Pro guard Marshall Yanda both returned to get a full session in on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday.

Starting cornerback Jimmy Smith remains sidelined with a back injury that could keep him out this week, which would be good news for a Bengals passing offense severely lacking with no Green.

Defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan continues to be limited with a shoulder injury, while linebacker Elvis Dumervil got another full practice in as he may return this Sunday from his foot injury.
