The Steelers’ rivalry with the Bengals often extends off-the-field, in addition to the slug-fests they have on-the-field.
The latest example of such comes from Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell. In addition to being arguably the Steelers’ best player, he is also apparently a rapper. He just released a new song titled "Rapping Athlete", which includes the following lyrics:
"All these haters @ me ...
You need to check my rap sheet ...
You better take the backseat like you play in Cincinnati."
For the record, the Bengals are 33-18-2 since 2013, which was the first year Bell came into the NFL. In that same span, the Steelers are 33-19, so I’m not sure how playing in Cincinnati has been all that different than playing in Pittsburgh since Bell entered the league.
Maybe if Le’Veon was more worried about helping his team instead of making rap videos, his team might not be 4-4 and riding a three-game losing streak, in which he’s averaged 55 rushing yards per game during that span. That comes after he missed the first three games of the season due to suspension.
Then again, you can’t blame Bell for having some extra disdain for the Bengals. He has suffered season-ending injuries to them during the past two seasons. But if he wants to get some revenge, doing it on the field is the route to go, not making a diss track.
The Steelers aren't going to face the Bengals again until Week 15, which is six weeks away, but that rivalry is always fresh no matter how much time there is in between games.
