The Bengals will look to play spoiler while keeping their slim playoff hopes alive when the Steelers come to town.

8-5 Pittsburgh comes into this game having won four straight following a 4-5 start, and they’re poised to win the AFC North title if they continue to finish the regular season strong. Their last three games are at Cincinnati and home vs the Ravens and Browns to end the season.

The 5-7-1 Bengals hope to throw a wrench into those plans with a win this week, which would knock Pittsburgh out of first place if Baltimore beats Philadelphia on Sunday.

Odds

The Steelers opened as the favorite for this matchup, and while the line has changed, Pittsburgh will remain favored heading into Sunday. As of Saturday morning, Pittsburgh is a three-point favorite, and a big reason why is how close every matchup seems to be in this rivalry.

Nine of the last 16 meetings have been decided by one score, and all but four games were within one score in the fourth quarter. Here is a look at some of the recent betting trends for both teams, courtesy of Odds Shark.

Expert Picks

The experts, to no real surprise, are picking the Steelers in this matchup.

  • At CBS Sports, all of their eight experts went with the Steelers.
  • Over at ESPN, eight of their nine experts think the Steelers win in Cincinnati.
  • At SB Nation, seven of their nine picks came in for Pittsburgh.
  • At FOX Sports, their six-man crew had four picking the Steelers and two siding with the Bengals.
  • What If Sports projects a 26-21 Steelers win.
  • NFL Picks Watch, which takes into account all of the expert pickers across the internet, has Pittsburgh getting 89-percent of the picks at the time this post was published.

As you can tell, the Steelers are viewed as the heavy favorites this week, even if they’re only favored to win by a field goal. There’s no question Pittsburgh is playing like a better team right now, and with no A.J. Green, outsiders see little reason to pick the Bengals...which is just how they like it. Here's to hoping for an upset.
