The Cincinnati Bengals have announced their inactives list for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and it includes the usual suspects from recent weeks. Though, long snapper Clark Harris is back.

For Cincinnati, the following players are inactive against the Steelers today:

  • Wide receiver A.J. Green
  • Defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry
  • Offensive lineman Christian Westerman
  • Safety Derron Smith
  • Tight end C.J. Uzomah
  • Long-snapper Tyler Ott
  • Quarterback Jeff Driskel

After Jeff Driskel was active for his first NFL game last week, he’s a healthy scratch this week thanks to James Wright being active. Driskel was a surprise active last week, but as an emergency wide receiver and special teams player with both Wright and A.J. Green out.

Speaking of, Green is out today after being limited in practice all three days this past week. It looks like Green will play again this year, but after a significant injury, the Bengals want him to get some full practices in before letting him play in games.

This means rookies Cody Core and Alex Erickson will be getting more receiver snaps in hopes of not only earning more playing time this year, but solidifying roles with the team next year.

Rookie offensive lineman Christian Westerman is inactive again as it appears he won’t see the field this year. He’s the only Bengal to be inactive in every game thus far. That’s really because both Kevin Zeitler and Clint Boling has managed to stay healthy and play every game, which is a good thing.

Rookie Jake Fisher is getting his first start at right tackle. Veteran lineman Eric Winston has started at right tackle since Cedric Ogbuehi lost that role three weeks ago. Ogbuehi now remains the backup left tackle behind Andrew Whitworth. It will be nice to see more of what Fisher can do after he showed some nice progress the last two weeks in getting increased snaps at right tackle. It wouldn’t be surprising to still see Winston getting some snaps at right tackle, too.

Wallace Gilberry out again due to a calf injury, which means Margus Hunt and DeShawn Williams are active again. However, Hunt played sparingly last week as Williams actually got more playing time.

Clark Harris is back in action after suffering a groin injury against the Bills. Tyler Ott will be inactive today as the Bengals’ starter is back in action. Expect Ott to be waived this coming week if all goes well for Harris on Sunday. The Bengals don’t need two long snappers.

As for the Steelers, their inactives are:

  • Strong safety Shamarko Thomas
  • Wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey
  • Wide receiver Demarcus Ayers
  • Quarterback Zach Mettenberger
  • Offensive lineman Brian Mihalik
  • Running back Daryl Richardson
  • Running back DeAngelo Williams

No surprises here as the Steelers are as healthy as they’ve been all season. Though they have their issues, Pittsburgh at full strength is one of the NFL’s most formidable teams. But, the Bengals have shown they’re full capable of winning these games, regardless of location.
