NFL Week 16 Bengals vs Texans final injury report: 3 Cincinnati starters will not play in Houston

The Bengals have a number of starters who have been ruled out for Saturday's game. The Texans don't share that fate as they're pretty healthy for a team to be in Week 16.

The Bengals have declared three starters and one backup out for Saturday night’s game against the Texans in Houston.

Tyler Eifert, Tyler Kroft, Clint Boling and Vontaze Burfict have all been declared out for the Bengals. A.J. Green, Jeremy Hill and Michael Johnson are all questionable.

This is by far the most injured the Bengals have been all year, though it comes at as good a time as possible after the Bengals were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs last week. Marvin Lewis had said he wouldn’t play young backups this week and that the team would still be playing to win. But, with this many injured players, Lewis will have no choice but to give backups a chance at playing time.

This is further supported by P.J. Dawson getting called up from the practice squad with Burfict set to miss Saturday’s game and Vincent Rey likely playing through a hamstring injury he suffered last week against the Steelers. It comes as no surprise, unfortunately, that the Bengals are this injured following a clash with Pittsburgh. Those games are always ultra-physical and often lead to at least minor injuries.

Green was listed as a full participant on Friday and it sounds like he will play, though, he's listed as questionable. In other positive news, it seems like Wallace Gilberry is ready to go after battling a calf injury for the last few weeks. Vinny Rey, James Wright and Pat Sims are also expected to play.

For the Texans, they may be without Lamar Miller, who is questionable with an ankle injury. He failed to practice this week and looks like a true game-time decision Saturday.

Jonathan Joseph is questionable with a rib injury, though he did at least get three limited practice sessions in this week. No one else is listed on the final report.

Here is the final injury report for both teams heading into Saturday night's game.
