Bengals vs Ravens Thursday injury report: Jeremy Hill not expected to play, Josh Shaw joins injured ranks

The Bengals’ final game of the 2016 season will be missing some serious star power.

Tyler Eifert and Clint Boling both were placed on Injured Reserve and each underwent surgery this week. A.J. Green and Vontaze Burfict aren’t expected to play. And, now Jeremy Hill is reportedly not going to be playing either after failing to practice on Wednesday and Thursday while dealing with a knee injury. Hill originally suffered the injury against the Steelers in Week 15, but did play minimally in Week 16 against the Texans. Hill was particularly ineffective last Saturday in Houston, playing only 13 snaps and generating eight rushing yards on seven carries. Expect Rex Burkhead to start at running back with Cedric Peerman as his backup on Sunday for the Bengals’ season finale. It’s possible the Bengals put Green and/or Burfict on I.R. and call up running back Tra Carson from the practice squad, too. The Bengals have already added P.J. Dawson, Trevor Roach and Jake Kumerow to the roster (from the practice squad) in the last week.

Also not practicing on Thursday were Tyler Kroft and Josh Shaw. Kroft missed last week with ankle and knee issues, but Shaw is new to the report with a knee injury. He may have suffered the injury in practice this week. Limited on Thursday were Vincent Rey, Andrew Whitworth, Will Clarke (all of whom were also limited on Wednesday) as well as Cedric Ogbuehi (shoulder) and Shawn Williams (ribs), who were new additions to the report.

For the Ravens, Jimmy Smith, Zach Orr and Ricky Wagner continued to sit out of practice. Jeremy Zuttah joined them, though, it wasn't injury related.
