With the 12th overall pick in the 2016 Cincy Jungle Community NFL mock draft, New Orleans Saints GM, BeastsFromTheEast selects...
Sheldon Rankins, DT, Louisville
The New Orleans Saints have the most underwhelming defensive line in NFL. They cannot stop the run at the line of scrimmage nor can they rush the passer. They had second most yards against them and the most points allowed per game (29.8 in 2015 -- YIKES!!! The Bengals allowed 17.4 points per game).
This defence can't get any worse; to fix the problem, they should start by upgrading the defensive line. Saddenly the best DEs are already off the board (though, I am personally not so high on Kevin Dodd). So, I'm going with a pass rushing DT in Sheldon Rankins from Louisville.
He has a great pull rush, which is essential for pass rushing DTs to succeed. He's very explosive, has a powerful lower body, is strong (28 reps) has long arms (33.5 inches) and he has all the tools to be an every down DT with All-Pro potential.
