Bengals wide receivers coach James Urban is running the NFL Draft’s version of a go route even though his foot is in a cast as he continues to scramble to get a leg up on the raft of prospects in next week’s extravaganza. From the time Urban tore his Achilles’ in a pick-up basketball game last Wednesday night to his surgery Friday morning, all of 36 hours had passed and then he was on the field Tuesday morning at Paul Brown Stadium in scooter shepherding the receivers through the team’s local prospects day.

'Better than A.J. Green' Bengals coach's mantra in draft search for WR

James Urban has yet to find him. He isn't planning on stopping his search anytime soon. Whenever the Cincinnati Bengals receiver coach turns on tape of a pass-catching draft prospect, his primary mission is to see if that player is better than the best wideout he's ever coached.

In the days since the NFL released the 2016 schedule, there has been wide outcry on social media from multiple fan bases that believe their team got a raw deal in the construction of the schedule. The Cincinnati Bengals' fan base is one of them. But as challenging as the Bengals' first six games may appear to be, and as disappointing as it may be to some Bengals fans that their team will be without linebacker Vontaze Burfict for the first game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, there are still reasons to be optimistic about the direction of the year.

Johnny Manziel: Why We Cannot (and Should Not) Look Away

Johnny Manziel isn't having any fun. Get the notion that Manziel is having a blast out of your mind. He's not. Not really. Being accused of trashing a rental property is not fun. It's desperate and pathetic. Car crashes are no fun. Assault allegations and protective orders are as far away from fun as you can get.

It's time for compensatory picks in the NFL to go away.
