Important Notes:
Full name is Ka'iminoeauloameka'ikeokekumupa'a Fairbairn.
Scouting Report Consensus - What to like:
- Has successfully hit his last 41 field goal attempts from under 35 yards
- Top scorer in Pac-12 history with 413 points
- Very good at kickoffs with a very high rate of touchbacks, and no kicks out of bounds
- Strong leg, hitting two of three attempts from beyond 50 yards in 2015 including a 60 yarder
- Improved his field goal accuracy over his last three seasons at UCLA
Scouting Report Consensus - What to not like:
- Unproven in clutch situations
- 3 of his 4 misses in 2015 were in the fourth quarter
- Kickoff hangtime is only ‘average’ by NFL standards
- Had missed every field goal attempt of 50+ yards before his senior year
Projected Round:
Round 6 - UDFA
Conclusion:
Fairbairn has become very consistent with field goals inside of 40 yards, and has a strong leg to hit longer field goals, and be force touchbacks on kickoffs. He has shown improvements every year and projects to be a day one starter in the NFL.
He is a poor-man’s Roberto Aguayo, in that he has become very accurate inside of 40 yards, but struggles at longer kicks once you get to 40 yards and more. His best fit would be on a team who wants a reliable kicker on everything inside of 40 yards, and is willing to take some misses beyond 40 yards, but doesn’t want to use the high draft pick that it would take to acquire Aguayo.
