A defensive lineman would go a long way in helping out the 49ers next season and that's what Touhue Cha went with here.

With the seventh pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, San Francisco 49ers general manager, Touhue Cha selects....

DeForest Buckner, DL, Oregon

Even with all the troubles and stalemate between Kaepernick and the 49ers, taking Buckner here at the #7 Slot is the best decision, don't need to get a QB just yet go BPA.

The 49ers defense has regressed after Willis & Justin Smith retired & with Aldon Smith gone the defense haven't been the same since then. The Defense is missing a lot of superstar players and players who are going to make an impact. By selecting Buckner they can build one of the better Front 7 to help their back 4 who all have potential but has yet to shine.

Grabbing Wentz or an offensive player here would be tempting but sticking with BPA here so Buckner would be the pick here. Also it doesn't hurt that the current 49ers HC use to be the old HC at Oregon back in the days.
