New, comments

Reports that the Bengals front office is growing impatient may not have been accurate, and the NFL is experimenting with rule changes by using the CFL. Meanwhile, the Broncos contract offer to Colin Kaepernick appeared to be less than ideal.

Patience a familiar path for Coldwater graduate Wenning
In the NFL, as it was in high school, the starting point of Keith Wenning’s career was patience. The Coldwater High School graduate spent almost all of the last two NFL seasons on the practice squads of the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals before being promoted to the Bengals active roster for the final four games of last season when starting quarterback Andy Dalton suffered a broken thumb in December.

Reggie Nelson's departure about Shawn Williams’ rise
Safety Reggie Nelson spent the last six seasons carving a spot in the heart of Bengals coaches and fans. Of course, 23 interceptions and leading the team each of the last two seasons will do that. Ripping off one in each of five consecutive games as he did in 2015 - as well as two more against his primary pick target Ben Roethlisberger - only fanned the fan favorite flames.

‘Nothing to’ report of Bengals' impatience with Lewis

Marvin Lewis has big plans for his team when it returns to Paul Brown Stadium for the start of voluntary offseason workouts on April 18. At the top of his list? Making sure every one of his Cincinnati Bengals flushes out any remaining vestiges of the 2015 season.

Safety transition
Shawn Williams, the odds-on favorite to replace safety Reggie Nelson, is oddly similar to his predecessor in some ways. For instance, neither of them says much even if they have a mouthful.

NFL Draft 400: Ranking the Top Wide Receivers for 2016
The 2016 NFL draft class doesn't feature two Heisman Trophy-winning quarterbacks at the top like last season's did with Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be excited about this year's class. With this draft set to be dominated by defensive linemen and small-school studs, not many people know as many names as they did last offseason.

Some teams aren’t on board with NFL’s plans to play in China
As the NFL moves forward with its international growth ambitions, a regular-season game in China is expected in 2018. But not every team is on board with that idea. According to ESPN, executives with the Packers and Giants were among those to raise objections with the idea of playing in China. Packers president Mark Murphy indicated that not only would the Packers never give up a home game for China, but they would object if asked to travel to China for a road game.
