Each year, odds are set for which head coach will be the first to be fired that season. Often, Marvin Lewis has been near the top of the list among the coaches most likely to be fired; but this year, that’s not the case. Lewis has received extension after extension despite the Bengals’ postseason failures and after bringing his team to the playoffs in six of the last seven years, fielding winning squads in five consecutive seasons, oddsmakers see Lewis as one of the least likely coaches to be fired this year. Only nine coaches, including Vikings’ head coach Mike Zimmer have better odds to not be the first coach nixed this season. Cardinals coach Bruce Arians is who oddsmakers think is the least likely coach to be fired first this year, with better odds than Patriots coach Bill Belichick.
Which coaches do the oddsmakers believe are on the chopping block? Let’s get to the odds.
